I joined Border Force in February 2021 because I wanted to be a part of a team that would make a meaningful difference. I studied Business at college and university, where I learned the various processes involved to run and manage an organisation effectively. I have been able to bring this knowledge into my work with Border Force.
My day-to-day work consists of securing the UK border by ensuring that people arriving on flights from overseas locations have the right to enter the country. Where this turns out not to be the case, I investigate further to see if the passenger is genuine or should be refused entry.
What I most enjoy about working for Border Force is knowing that every day will be different and that every passenger I encounter will be different. It is also highly rewarding knowing I am making a difference by implementing the correct laws and procedures to protect the UK and its citizens.
As well as the job satisfaction, there are lots of other benefits to being in Border Force including job security, opportunities to progress your career and working with a great team of diverse, helpful colleagues.
A career in Border Force is a highly challenging but rewarding opportunity, and I would definitely recommend applying.
