The Communications Directorate is a multi-disciplinary team delivering the Home Office’s communications strategy. We are insight-led and results-driven, and our marketing campaigns support strategic objectives using a wide range of channels. We seek to provide high quality media, rebuttal and social media services. Our Internal Communications team supports employee engagement and business transformation.

The Corporate and Delivery team works closely with Home Office policy and operational commands so that the department can deliver on its priorities. The team has wide-ranging responsibilities including Human Resources, Project Delivery, IT and Digital Services, Finance and Commercial roles.

His Majesty’s Passport Office
His Majesty’s Passport Office is responsible for providing accurate and secure records relating to passport services and civil registration in England and Wales. Homeland Security Group
Homeland Security Group’s (HSG) mission is to reduce homeland security risks to the UK’s people, prosperity and freedoms. This includes risks from terrorism, state threats, economic crime and cyber-crime. We provide systems leadership across government and deliver strategic initiatives, working closely with operational partners, the Intelligence Agencies and other external organisations to protect the UK.

Our team of Home Office Legal Advisers support the delivery of the Home Office’s aims and objectives by providing legal services to ministers and other team across the department.

Immigration Enforcement
Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. Migration and Borders Group
The Migration and Borders Group is responsible for policy, legislation and reform of the immigration systems and acts as a centre for excellence to deliver international interventions and engagement. This work touches many of the most high-profile policy areas for the Home Office, including asylum, migration, nationality, extradition, citizens’ rights, borders and international criminality.

Public Safety Group
The Public Safety Group’s role is to keep the public safe by cutting crime, disrupting the highest harm criminals, protecting the vulnerable and ensuring that our police, fire and rescue services are as efficient and effective as they can be in delivering front line public services. We work with our partners in other government departments, local government and the voluntary sector to develop and implement policy, provide funding, and deliver legislation.

The Science, Technology, Research and Analysis (STAR) Group sits at the heart of the Home Office. The group ensures the best evidence and analysis are used to address the strategic issues facing the department. We also provide the science, technology, data, and international insights and collaboration capabilities to drive delivery.

UK Visas and Immigration
UK Visas and Immigration is responsible for making millions of decisions every year about who has the right to stay in the country. They place a firm emphasis on national security and aim to provide world-class customer service to the millions of people who come to the UK legally each year.
