We are recruiting 64 Reporting Centre Officers to join our Reporting Offender Management teams (ROM) in London (Hounslow and Croydon), Portsmouth, Stansted, Felixstowe and Bedford.
These are exciting opportunities to develop a wide range of people and engagement skills in a job where you can make a real difference. We will provide full and comprehensive training that will enable you to carry out this worthwhile role, so no previous law enforcement experience is required.
Reporting Offender Management (ROM) teams support the Home Office’s strategic aim to reduce the number of illegal migrants present in the UK and to work with partners, employers and the public to increase compliance with immigration and employment rules.
About the role

Some of the day-to-day tasks you might be involved with include:
- Maintaining contact management with individuals who are required to report, involving in person contact or telephone reporting within a Reporting Centre.
- Potentially conducting marriage interviews (full training would be provided).
- Maintaining/managing unit spreadsheets/performance sheets.
- Creating and issuing reporting restrictions and serving decisions and notices.
- Dealing with enquiries/complaints by phone or correspondence.
- Conducting face to face and telephone interviews to gain further information, dealing appropriately with resistance and challenging conversations.
- Working collaboratively, developing strong working relationships across all relevant teams and stakeholders, to deliver business outcomes.
Benefits
We offer starting salaries from £28,000 (£32,000 for London, Croydon, Hounslow) plus these other excellent benefits:

- An annual allowance of between £5,948-£6,216 paid in addition to your salary for London roles. This is paid to compensate for the requirement to work shifts. It is kept under regular review.

Specific responsibilities will vary according to changing priorities but are likely to include:
- Maintaining contact management with those who are required to report, involving either face to face or telephone reporting contact.
- Maintaining and managing unit spreadsheets/performance sheets.
- Actively participating in weekly team performance meetings.
- Updating systems.
- Creating and issuing reporting restrictions and serving decisions and notices.
- Dealing with enquiries and complaints by phone or correspondence.
- Conducting face to face and telephone interviews to gain further information, dealing appropriately with resistance and challenging conversations.
- Working collaboratively, developing strong working relationships across all relevant teams and stakeholders, to deliver business outcomes.
- Potentially managing a small team; conducting regular check-ins with staff and managing their performance and wellbeing.
- Delivery of some Ad Hoc administrative and business support tasks.
- Determining the root causes for data quality errors and making recommendations for long-term solutions.

- Able to demonstrate how you keep up to date with the issues that affect your working area and how this supports achievement of the wider organisational objectives and priorities.
- For the national roles (all locations other than Croydon and Hounslow) a full driving licence is required.
