We’re recruiting Engagement Officers to join our Detention Services Compliance Team at locations across the country. The closing date for applications is 4th December.
Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration and removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK.
These roles are part of the Detention Engagement Teams (DETs). As part of Detention, Progression and Returns Command (DPRC), these teams work to enhance the quality and frequency of engagements between Home Office and people entering Immigration Removal Centres (IRC).
An Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) is a secure building that holds detained individuals prior to their removal from the United Kingdom or for nationality and identification purposes. The DET team use face-to-face interaction to build relationships with people in detention and provide an important on-site link between them and teams managing their case.
Based within the centres, engaging with those in detention and on-site healthcare providers and suppliers, DETs are better placed to ensure that vulnerability issues are identified and managed at the earliest opportunity.
