We’re here to help keep the UK and its citizens safe and secure.
We look at passport applications and make decisions about who’s eligible for a passport and ensure we issue it to the right person.
Especially in the case of children or vulnerable people, we want to make sure they’re getting the right help.
That bigger picture is what you hold on to because even the small decisions you make have real impacts on people’s lives.
I enjoy the international side of things too I get to learn about different policies and customs in place in other countries.
Before I started this job, I didn’t fully understand all the different reasons people come to this country or the process they have to go through to become a British Citizen.
We have to learn the different ways people try to abuse the system too It’s really opened my eyes.
And even though we’ve been working a lot from home, we’re not alone.
My team is based across the country and we speak every day learning together when we come across something new or unexpected.
I’ve found myself in a supportive community and it’s a great place to be.
