For me, it’s really important working somewhere where I feel like I can make a difference and where what the organisation does matters.
It’s impacting directly the life of the citizen. And that’s the sense of pride for me by working in the Home Office.
The Home Office is over 50,000 people, in a range of different roles, and what I do, and colleagues in wider DDaT, is give them the right tools and information that they need to take data informed decisions.
I remember I was probably six months into the job, and I just decided to put the radio on and, they were talking about a piece of work that I’d recently done, and I thought I worked on that. It was just really interesting to hear something you had actually worked about on the on the news.
Currently I work for a project and it’s going to impact each police officer, which in turn is ensuring that our security not only for my family for the whole nation is ensured.
Working at the Home Office makes me feel happy and fulfilled, when I see the impact of the work that I do, I deliver, and how communities and people can access our services more efficiently, more quickly.
You’re delivering things which are real and impactful to their sort of day to day life. So being a public servant is really important to me.
I’m really proud to have the opportunity to work alongside a really broad range of colleagues from a complete, diverse set of backgrounds. But we all care about making a difference and we all work together in whatever our role may be.
And I think it’s a fantastic place to work.
