As a Bilingual Passport Officer, you’ll use your Welsh and English language skills to support people through important life moments. You’ll help make sure each application is accurate, secure, and meets the right standards, so citizens can travel, work, and live with confidence. This is a unique opportunity for a bilingual speaker to become an integral member of His Majesty’s Passport Office (HMPO).

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a bilingual Welsh and English speaker who is flexible, organised, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. You’ll need to be professional, customer focused, and comfortable adapting to change while solving problems effectively. You’ll also bring a strong sense of personal ethics and honesty, strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with the public, internal and external stakeholders, and work as part of a wider team.
What you’ll do
As a Passport Officer, you’ll examine passport applications, confirm identity and nationality, and approve those that meet policy and legal requirements. Working as part of the wider Immigration and Citizenship Services team, you’ll help deliver a secure and efficient passport service that people can trust.
This is an important role where attention to detail, sound judgement, and a strong sense of responsibility help protect the integrity of the UK passport and maintain confidence in an essential public service.
Working arrangements
This role is suitable for part-time working hours, with a minimum of 20 hours across at least four days per week.
Training
You will receive training and support to carry out the role.
Candidates applying on a part‑time basis should note that flexibility in working days may be required during training.

- Examine passport applications in Welsh and English to determine identity and nationality
